When I was younger I had some boy give me a goldfish that he had won at a carnival. I kept this goldfish, named him "Goldie", fed it, and cleaned up after it. This fish lived for 5+ years! Goldie had gotten so big, and I was so surprised that he lived as long as he did.
The other day my family and I went to the carnival. My brother ended up playing the fish game with my two boys. Of course they all won goldfish, so now we have three. Nemo, Dory, and Bruce is what my boys decided to name them.
In honor of three new fishes that I now have to take care of, I thought I would do some fun facts on Goldfish.
1. GOLDFISH CANNOT CLOSE THEIR EYES.
2. THE WORLDS OLDEST GOLDFISH WAS 43 YEARS OLD AND WAS WON AT A FAIR.
3. GOLDFISH DO NOT HAVE STOMACHS.
4. A PREGNANT GOLDFISH IS CALLED A TWIT.
5. THERE ARE MORE THAN 500 SPECIES OF GOLDFISH.
6. IF YOU PLACE A GOLDFISH IN THE DARK, EVENTUALLY IT WILL TURN WHITE.
7. A SCHOOL OF FISH IS KNOWN AS "TROUBLING".
